Expansion at UK recycling facility thanks to finance boost

Plastics recycler, MBA Polymers, has announced that it has received significant financial injection from its investors that will see it expand its operations in Worksop.

MBA says the new investment will allow the company to drive growth and further improve production efficiency in the UK.

MBA Polymers Chief Executive, Nigel Hunton, commented: “This is a sign of real confidence in our business going forward and this new funding will enable us to complete improvements which will enhance operational performance and expand capacity at our UK plant at Worksop, Notts.”

MBA says it will be receiving an increased level of shredded plastic waste from cars because of the coming on-stream of EMR’s new plant at Oldbury, Birmingham, one of the largest metal recycling plants in the UK. The new facility will provide MBA with greatly enhanced levels of the raw material for MBA’s recycled plastic end product.

“Taking these moves together, we expect that during the year we will be able to expand production, increase efficiency and expand capacity. 2014 is looking very positive for MBA Polymers with some great opportunities in front of us,” Hunton concluded.
