Jayplas’ packaging division receives accreditation for recycled materials

Plastics recycler, Jayplas, has been awarded an A-Grade British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification for packaging materials at its newest manufacturing plant in Worksop.

The company says receiving the accolade for its recently-formed packaging division is a “key component” of the company's strategic plan to deliver high quality recycled plastic products to customers – in particular in the retail industry through the reprocessing of its own waste material.

“The aim of this division is to offer businesses high quality recycled products made from their own waste,” commented John Haddow, Group Compliance Manager at Jayplas. “Our new facility offers our customers a UK-based recycler who can take their plastic waste and produce plastic packaging products, which can replace virgin products and reduce the need for imported packaging,”

Haddow continued: “Achieving an A-Grade certification from the BRC again demonstrates our commitment to offering customers recycled goods of a superior quality in a sustainable way. It's also a reflection of the effort the whole Jayplas team has made in earning the highest grade on our very first attempt.”

BRC Global Standards is one of the world's foremost safety and quality certification programmes. The standard guarantees that manufacturers meet safety and operational criteria while adhering to quality standards and legal obligations to the consumer.
