Over egged it? Recycle your Easter packaging at Sainsbury’s

by

Certain branches of Sainsbury’s supermarkets in the UK are offering customers the opportunity to bring their Easter egg packaging into the store to be recycled.

Running until 12 April, 400 of the retailers largest stores across the country will accept card, paper and rigid plastic for recycling, which not all kerbside collections accept in the areas where the scheme is running.

“This is the second year we’ve rolled the scheme out in our larger supermarkets and we’ve had a really positive response from our customers and colleagues,” commented Sainsbury’s Head of Sustainability, Engineering, Energy and Environment, Paul Crewe.

“Recycling is an important part of Sainsbury’s environmental commitment. The Christmas card and Easter egg recycling schemes have been really popular in the past and are a great way of reminding our customers to recycle.”
