PLASgran expands into municipal services sector

Cambridgeshire-based plastics recycling specialist, PLASgran, has announced it is to extend into the municipal wheelie bin and associated services sector as part of its ongoing growth.

The company’s newly incorporated ‘Municipal Services Division’ will offer a full range of services to wheelie bin manufacturers, local authorities and waste management providers for the on-street delivery and collection of wheelie bins, together with a ‘one-stop-shop’ for end of life bins and containers.

PLASgran has employed the services of an experienced team, headed by David Barber and John Exley, to set up and run the new Division, who bring with them more than 30 years of experience in this sector.

PLASgran Managing Director, Mark Roberts said, “We are delighted to bring on board this new capability, which further enhances our complete offering to our customer and supplier base. The experience in this area that David and John bring is invaluable and will ensure that the quality of service our customers receive will be second to none.”

This recent addition to the business follows a series of investments in new equipment, capabilities and resources throughout 2016.

“This latest venture is part of a long-term plan to grow the business and position ourselves as the foremost recycler of plastics in the country, allowing us to offer a very wide range of services from waste collection, through high quality regrind sales to highly technical compounds for demanding applications,” said Roberts. “It is our mission to provide the best quality, specified and quality controlled range of recycled materials and services to the plastics industry.”

The business, which has been trading since 1999, significantly expanded its processing capacity and capability earlier in the year, with a £1.7 million investment in a new INTAREMA 2018 TVEplus RegrindPro compounding line, and more recently announced the delivery of a new BOY22A laboratory moulding machine to enhance it’s quality and technical development capability.
