Second commercial order for Axplas polymers and UK team expands

Environmental Recycling Technologies and Axion have announced a further order of the specifically blended ‘Axplas’ recycled polymer.

North Brook Farms, a US licensee of ERT’s Powder Impression Moulding (PIM) process, has placed an order for Axplas, a 100 percent recycled plastics formulation, for use in the production of flat sheet.

“NBF Plastics is very excited to be receiving our first shipment of Axplas plastics from Axion Polymers and ERT. The quality and consistency of the blend is essential to the success of our operation and Axplas is absolutely the right choice,“ commented Ian Kyle, Vice President, NBF Plastics LLC.

The order comes at the same time UK-based Axion Polymers announced the recruitment of a dedicated polymer technologist to its technical sales team, with a specific focus on expanding its range of Axpoly and Axplas custom polymer blends.

Shaun Phizacklea, a Manchester University chemistry graduate with extensive experience in rigid plastic recycling, joins Commercial Operations Manager Steve Bell and Edyta Hallam in customer services/supply chain logistics at the fully-integrated materials resource recovery business.

Commenting on his new role, Phizacklea said: “Improving the physical characteristics of the recycled polymers, such as adjusting melt flow, impact resistance and tensile strength, are among the key challenges that make my job both interesting and rewarding.

“With more clients recognising the cost savings on virgin plastics and the opportunity to reduce their carbon impact, it’s great to be part of an enthusiastic and skilled team fully committed to growing our recycled polymer range.”
