A technology day designed to demonstrate the latest technology and equipment to enable UK manufacturers to unlock value and potential is being held next month.

The ‘Automation Technology Discovery Day’ is being held at the headquarters of Leicester-based DB Automation, a special purpose machine builder, and will feature a number of UK suppliers running live demonstrations.

The two-day event on 6th and 7th September will see DB present its latest multi-cavity injection moulding automation machine, which the company says is a “must-see” for anyone interested in automating their operations.

“Witnessing this impressive piece of automation in action is something you definitely won’t want to miss,” said Nick Parker, DB Automation’s Operations Director. “In addition, our partners will be showing the latest in technology to demonstrate how to boost automation and manufacturing processes.”

Technology on display

The partners at the event include representatives from plasma treatment specialist, Dyne Technology, who will demonstrate the ‘PlasmaTEC-X’, the latest in atmospheric plasma technology, which is easily integrated with automation.

Plasma Technology is used to improve adhesion and wetting qualities of “non-stick” polymers and composites alongside super cleaning metals, glass and ceramics prior to bonding, coating and sealing processes.

For injection moulders, Sepro Robotique will be demonstrating their leading technology live and in action and pioneers in robotics and automation, KUKA, will be showcasing a vast variety of industry leading robotic solutions, including multiple choices of axis and new innovative technology.

The final partner, Abtech Ltd, will be showcasing the latest in high quality vision and camera solutions designed to suit a wide range of applications.

Unlocking potential

“Engineering and manufacturing professionals are encouraged to come along and join in making our first ever technology day a success,” continued Parker.

“We are offering attendees the opportunity to meet with industry leading suppliers, witness revolutionary technologies in action and find out whether these technologies could unlock true manufacturing potential.”
