BBC presenter to return to UK plastics recycling conference again in 2016

The annual RECOUP plastics recycling conference has announced that BBC presenter, Tom Heap, will return to its stage in 2016.

The television personality, who is well known for his environmental interests, first presided over the conference in 2015, where his challenging questions stimulated a panel session on plastic as a sustainable resource.

“There promises to be some interesting and varied debate around plastic resources and recycling, and I am looking forward to Tom’s challenging questions sparking thought-provoking debate, both to the speakers and delegates,” commented Stuart Foster, RECOUP’s CEO.

Registration is now open for the event, which will take place on Thursday 29th September 2016 at the KingsGate Conference Centre, Peterborough.

Speakers confirmed include contributors from across all sectors of plastics recycling, including brand owners, retailers, waste management, packaging, reprocessing, local authorities and Government. RECOUP says the content promises to be as challenging as previous conferences, with a true sharing of knowledge and experiences from across the plastics supply chain.

“RECOUP strives to ensure plastics has a successful future as a sustainable and recyclable resource and the conference provides a valuable vehicle to discuss the issues the sector is facing,” Foster continued.

The conference has garned a significant level of support from industry, supported this year by Bpi Recycled Products, Auro-Soma and Eurokey. British Plastics and Rubber is delighted to be media partner to the event and will be attending and reporting live from the conference later in the year.
