Bradford will open doors to new polymer labs in September

by

Polymer Engineering at Bradford University is gearing up for increased activity in 2015, culminating in a week of special events in September.

The biennial ‘Polymer Process Engineering’ event (Sept 8-9) adds on two extras this year, in the form of a research workshop in conjunction with the UK-China Advanced Materials Research Institute (Sept 8-10) as well as the British Science Festival.

The first two polymer based events will all take place in the newly refurbished Polymer IRC laboratories at Bradford.

Last year saw a number of significant new test equipment items procured as part of Bradford’s successful EPSRC Capital Equipment Grant.  Conference delegates will have the opportunity to view the laboratories in full.

The new equipment is set to enhance the specialist, advanced materials processing facilities and suite of at-process monitoring and off-line characterisation equipment. The equipment is primarily aimed at advanced materials with healthcare applications. Capabilities will include extensive nanoscale characterisation, plus modelling facilities for processing and materials performance.

The new equipment complements the current advanced materials manufacturing process technology and characterisation facilities in the Polymer IRC laboratory at Bradford.
