Manufacturing event highlights industry success

The GTMA’s Manufacturing UK 2013 event took place last month with over 120 visitors from UK engineering and technology companies.

The event took place at Yamazaki Mazak’s European headquarters and featured demonstrations of products as well as keynote speakers from the aerospace, automotive and medical industry sectors.

GTMA’s CEO, Julia Moore, said: “The event was organised to highlight the recent successes already being enjoyed by UK-based manufacturing companies.”

Hanson Thorpe Precision Toolmakers exhibited at the event. The Manchester-based company specialises in injection moulding tools and has in-house design and CAD/CAM facilities.

The firm has manufactured tools ranging from single impression to multi impression tools, hot runner systems, unscrewing, 3D formed and twin shot tools.

Des Thorpe, Company Director, said: “It was a great day for networking, with excellent, informative speakers. It was certainly worthwhile attending.”
