Open House event to demonstrate new technology

Cincinnati Milacron has announced it will host a European Open House, where the firm will showcase new processing technologies for the European plastics industry.

The event will take place on June 20 and 21, with several pieces of equipment on show.

On show will be high-speed pipe extrusion and high-speed medical extrusion. For high-speed pipe extrusion, attendees will have the first opportunity to see the GPAK45 high-speed pipe extrusion line, producing yellow SDR gas pipe using a PE 100 grade resin.

Cincinnati Milacron has engineered its single screw extruders with modular design concepts to meet market requirements. The result, according to the group, is built-in flexibility, lower costs, faster deliveries and competitive value for the company’s customers.

Smooth bore (PAK) to grooved feed (G-PAK) ranges of larger extruder sizes, and floor mounted (S-PAK) or pedestal mounted (S-PAK-T) co-extruder models are available.

The PAK series of single screw extruders handle a wide range of applications including sheet, custom profile, window profile, pipe (all resins), pelletising, medical tubing, structural foam, wire and cable, and flat sheet. The GPAK series of single screw extruders offer higher throughput rates, which are typically used in many pipe and profile applications.

Alternative materials of construction for the barrel and screw provide long life, rebuild ability and reduced life-cycle costs for each model.

In addition to the GPAK45, attendees at the Open House will also see for the first time the MPAK250 medical extruder with a Conair multi-pass tank, puller, coiler, and Zumbach O/D and I/D gauging, using a medical grade non-phthalate FPVC resin.

Both extrusion lines will be running on both days of the Open House, and attendees will also be able to listen to technical presentations given by Cincinnati Milacron’s European supplier partners, meet and network with experts and fellow processors.
