Fakuma 2015 sold out ahead of October, K Show to follow suit

Organisers of two of the industry's biggest trade fairs have announced that they will be operating from sold-out show floors.

P.E. Schall Gmbh, organisers of the Fakuma fair in Friedrichshafen, due to take place in October 2015, revealed that the event has been booked out since the end of February, whereas Messe Dusseldorf, organisers of the K Show, say that with a few weeks left of registration, exhibitor interest has been “lively” and it will fill 19 show halls come October 2016.

“Fakuma has been entirely booked out since the end of February: all available halls and ancillary floor space at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre are once again fully occupied,” commented, Fakuma Project Manager, Annemarie Lipp, after the official registration deadline commenced.

“Due to the fact that Fakuma is held twice every three years and will thus not take place in 2016, many manufacturers and distributors wanted to take advantage of the opportunity of participating in the continuing boom for plastic products, or of profiting from substitution options through the use of new plastics and composites.”

P. E. Schall says the full-house occupancy situation is “highly encouraging”, but added that “numerous potential exhibitors” will have to be excluded as a result because exhibition floor space is limited. “With more than 1700 exhibitors and overall exhibition floor space amounting to 970,000 square feet, Fakuma has in the meantime reached a magnitude that we don’t want to significantly exceed,” commented Paul E. Schall.

”We’re in agreement with the exhibitors that quality is more important than quantity with regard to the expert visitors, and we’re in agreement with the expert visitors that we’ll continue to showcase current worldwide offerings for plastics processing technologies with regard to processes, components, subsystems and complete solutions. And thus emphasis is placed on qualitative growth in every respect, which is convincingly demonstrated by the sector-oriented, but nevertheless cross-discipline product and service offerings once again at the 24th Fakuma.”

Regards to K Show, whose registration for exhibitors officially closes on 31st May, organisers say some 3,000 exhibitors will be attending the plastic industry’s largest trade fair, which is taking place from 19 to 26 October 2016.

"Thanks to its unparalleled breadth of offering and the unmatched internationality of exhibitors and visitors, the fair is in a class of its own worldwide. It is the place where key decisions for products and processes and problem-solving are taken, and it points the way forward for the whole industry for the coming years," commented Werner M. Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

"We are delighted that demand for exhibition space is again extremely buoyant. The companies from the world of plastics and rubber know that they can look forward to an excellent springboard for their business success every three years in Düsseldorf. Registration for K 2016 is still possible until 31 May 2015."
