Ferromatik UK and Milacron to introduce new MAGNA T SERVO at PDM

by

Ferromatik UK and Milacron will be introducing the new MAGNA T SERVO series as a high specification, high value injection moulding machine for the first time in the UK next month.

The MAGNA T SERVO – which will be on site at the PDM exhibition – is said to focus on energy saving, noise reduction, heat reduction and on zero platen deflection.

Managing Director, Graeme Padfield, said: “The MAGNA T Servo is a welcome addition to our product range. This machine series provides a high specification yet low cost proposition to the custom, medical, packaging and automotive market.”

Available from 50 to 550 tonne clamp force, with 10 machine sizes, 10 injection units and screw diameters from 18mm to 100mm, the MAGNA T SERVO comes ready packaged with many features included as standard. Examples include robot interface, core pull (up to four), air valves and water battery.

In similar approach to Milacron’s ELEKTRON Evo, considerable power saving is said to be achieved due to the smart servo drives. The five-point clamp toggle system is power and acceleration is optimised, reducing unnecessary power consumption. In addition, the unique internal gear pump has only two moving parts with rpm up to 3200, providing constant discharge regardless of pressure conditions.

Milacron’s gear pump design and smart servo drives reduce water and oil consumption by up to 30 percent with energy saving up to 50 percent compared to standard hydraulic machines. Lubrication is automatic, requiring only a visual check as the cartridge can be easily located and changed. Screw variants such as high compression or for PVC are also available.

High performance ENDURA Touch controls developed with B&R allow for easy operation and data capture. With configurable inputs included for peripheral devices such as robot automation, the MAGNA T Servo injection moulding machines are specifically designed for ease of use, setup and operation. Interfaces include a USB port and Ethernet link for machine data capture. Data protection with four access levels are available as standard for up to 100 machine operators.

The MAGNA TS provides a toggle mechanism with user friendly controls. Reduced heat generation results in longer life for the hydraulic components with oil and water use substantially reduced. Simplified hydraulics, generous tie-bar and platen size, yet compact footprint, the MAGNA T Servo allows for low cost, ease of operation, enhanced safety and extremely quiet.

Padfield also commented: “With over 3000 units installed since 2009, the MAGNA T Servo is already a proven, well established hydraulic machine in the States and beyond. Now with CE Certification, Ferromatik UK together with Milacron are looking forward to introducing this new series to the UK at PDM”.
