Iain Wright MP to deliver keynote address at Interplas 2014

Iain Wright MP, Shadow Minister for Industry, will deliver a keynote address at Interplas 2014.

The Labour MP, who recently met with representatives of the British Plastics Federation and was briefed about business conditions in the industry, will kick off a day of top-flight speakers on Wednesday October 1st.

Wright will head up a day of presentations focusing on the UK’s resurgent automotive industry; including presentations on the opportunities for plastics companies within the UK's automotive supply chain, light weighting, materials innovation and recycling as well as design and selection.

In addition, Interplas will welcome Luke Hampton, Supply Chain Development Manager at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), who will discuss some of the key reasons why the UK automotive industry is excelling at the moment, and how plastics manufacturers can break into, develop and capitalise on the opportunities seen within the UK automotive industry.

Interplas will also welcome Graeme Herlihy, Managing Director, Engel UK, who will present on the development of fibre reinforced composite parts; Keith Freegard Director, Axion Polymers, who will talk about the automotive circular economy and the creation of recycled plastic components for the MINI, made in Oxford, UK.

Technical presentations will include material selection with Plastribution’s Dan Jarvis, bonding adhesives with 3M’s Dr. Antonio Pagliuca and simulation of extruded parts with Dr Jiri Vlcek, founder of Compuplast.
