Leader of Manchester City Council to address Polymer Group

The leader of Manchester City Council will deliver the keynote address at an upcoming one-day plastics seminar focusing on conflicts between environment and engineering.

Sir Richard Leese will present to delegates at the Manchester Polymer Group annual plastics seminar, which is being held on Monday 23rd November at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Emirates Old Trafford.

Leese will be telling attendees how Manchester City Council can help rubber and plastics companies in the area, and how the City Council may attract inward investment for businesses in this sector.

Greater Manchester is an area of excellence in rubber, plastics and now, Graphene.

The Plastics Seminar will have speakers from throughout the UK presenting papers  about ‘upcycling’ of performance polymers, the circular economy for plastics in the automotive sector, biodegradable packaging, waste licensing – REACH- Insurance and quality issues associated with Plastics Recycling.

The event is organised by Manchester Polymer Group and The Polymer Society, divisions of the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining.
