A double-digit growth in visitor numbers and record attendance figures contributed to results that went “beyond all expectations”, according to the organisers of Chinaplas.

The show, which has recently concluded its 30th edition, recorded 148,575 visitors across four days in Shanghai, the highest number since the show started in 1984.

In terms of growth, the number of visitors increased by 13.96 percent compared to the last time the event was held in Shanghai in 2014; and compared to 2015,when the show was located in Guangzhou, the numbers increased by 15.84 percent.

Chinaplas 2016 also achieved “record highs” in terms of exhibition area and number of exhibitors. The show covered an exhibition area of over 240,000 sq. metres with a participation of 3,335 exhibitors from 39 countries and regions.

Mr. Stanley CHU, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services, Organiser of Chinaplas, said: “We were very happy to witness the 30th CHINAPLAS making historical breakthroughs in terms of exhibition area and quantity of exhibitors and visitors.

“Chinaplas has grown into an excellent must-visit show for technology sourcing and exchange among industry professionals and buyers from all over the world. The implementation of “Re-industrialisation” in the West and the “Made in China 2025” project has urged the manufacturing enterprises to conduct business transformation and technology upgrade.

“The rise of Asian emerging countries and the shift of the global centre of economic gravity eastwards put Chinaplas under the spotlight; thanks to our partners, exhibitors, buyers and the whole Adsale team, whose staunch support and effort make Chinaplas 2016 a complete success.”

Commenting on the development and direction of Chinaplas, Ms. Ada Leung, General Manager of Adsale, said that raising the visitor quality and the technological level of exhibits are the “primary targets” for the sustainable development of the show.

“At Chinaplas 2016, there were more than 40 kinds of ground-breaking technologies. It is not only a platform for sourcing and technology know-how exchange, but also a value-added, professional and technology-oriented trade fair. The development trend of Chinaplas is well-matched with the technology upgrade and specific needs from downstream high-end buyers, ‘she explained.
