ALBIS reaffirms long-term commitment to Asian market

ALBIS PLASTIC says it will use its presence at CHINAPLAS to build on partnerships as it continues its expansion in the Asia Pacific region.

The Hamburg-headquartered materials compounder and distributor says it remains firm in its long-term commitment to the market, with recent investment in site expansion and technical infrastructure designed to take advantage of market opportunities.

"As we know, China's economic growth in 2015 did not reach the levels seen in previous years; the same may also be true in 2016 as well," explained Carsten W. Wörner, Chief Sales Officer at ALBIS PLASTIC.

"However, ALBIS remains firm in its long-term commitment to this market. Our local business is growing, especially via professional project work in collaboration with customers and partners.”

He continued: “Thanks to our Technical Sales Approach coupled with our segment expertise in development we create a kind of 'special economy'. We remain optimistic that we will still be able to see solid two-digit sales growth rates in the region.”

As part of its recent investments in the region, the company has expanded its operations in colour-matching technology, as well as a focus on continuous employee training and development.

"Our competitive advantage is based on our employees' knowledge and qualifications," explained Philip Krahn, Chief Officer, Far East. "At ALBIS, continuing education and training on technical and sales subjects are required standards, as are internal training programs led by appropriate experts."

The company also works closely with consulting companies to penetrate the local market even more effectively with the help of segment-specific business development resources.

"As the world's largest economic region, Asia offers a wide variety of markets, each of which has a dynamic all its own," added Krahn. "To make sure that we truly understand these markets, so that we can respond to various customer needs and market trends, we rely entirely upon our own competencies—which we continuously develop, and which ultimately represent our key competitive advantage."

ALBIS's expansion within Asia has also intensified throughout the entire Asia Pacific region. The company has established both business development and sales structures within Malaysia and Thailand, and has successfully found a local sales partner for their business in Australia and New Zealand.

ALBIS looks back on over 40 years of success within the Asian market. It opened its first sales office in Hong Kong all the way back in 1971, ten years after ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH was founded. Since then, the company has continually expanded its operations in China, the Asia Pacific region and Oceania.
