Fakuma opens doors to manufacturers “prepared to invest”

This year’s Fakuma is dedicated to all aspects of plastics processing, from traditional technology to innovative new applications, say the show’s organisers.

Opening today (October 14) and running until October 18, P.E. Schall says the exhibition presents technologies and solutions that address the key issues facing the plastics industry, including energy efficiency, automation, in-line solutions and quality assurance, for manufacturers that are looking to buy.

“The manufacturers and distributors of plastic products are prepared to invest – especially against a backdrop of rising pressure to reduce the consumption of energy and resources in the broad ranging field of plastics processing,” said P.E. Schall.

This is the 23rd edition of the Fakuma and Schall expects it to be the biggest to date in terms of both exhibitors and visitor numbers, with high levels of international companies occupying the halls.

Companies exhibiting this year range from those showcasing advances in energy and material-saving for the production and processing of plastics, expanding use of composite materials, improved precision injection moulding of components used in micro-technology and medical engineering, to miniaturisation and thin-wall applications, new applications for rotational moulding technology and 3D printing.

A number of major plastics companies are expected to launch new technologies and applications over the course of the coming days.
