Gneuss to show energy efficient processing techniques

by

Extrusion machinery manufacturer, Gneuss, will show technology from its three core business areas of filtration, processing and measurement technology at Interplas 2014.

The company says it has enjoyed “strong and consistent growth” in its processing business unit thanks to its Multi Rotation System extruder, which has established itself as a key technology for processing PET reclaim without pre-drying.

Gneuss says about 40 of these extruders have been sold for sheet, fibre and repelletising applications in Europe, Asia, North and South America, with the extremely high devolatilising and decontamination performance of the technology the reason behind the uptake from processors. Thanks to the patented combination of single screw extruder with a multiple screw section, the extruder is particularly rugged, as well as easy to operate and maintain, says the company.

In the area of filtration technology, Gneuss will introduce a large number of innovative new developments in its range of Rotary Filtration Systems at Interplas, including four new screen changer models, which are the result of a long-term development initiative. These new models, says the company, offer the advantages of the proven high performance rotary screen changers, tailored individually for special applications.

Finally, the measurement technology arm of the business will be represented at the show with a selection of problem solving sensor solutions for extrusion processes.

This includes waterproof pressure transducers for the food industry, as well as heavy-duty sensors with special diaphragm technology for the processing of wood-plastic composites (WPCs) and for difficult processing conditions with frequent pressure pulsations and short-term pressure spikes.
