Husky says its first day exhibiting at K 2016 brought a “tremendous response” to its new products and system solutions from visitors.

These include its next generation system for high output beverage closure moulding, ‘HyCAP4’.

The latest generation of the HyCAP platform, which was first launched in 2009, features engineering advancements, including several new capabilities and features for enhanced machine and mould integration. Combined, Husky says these enhancements allow HyCAP4 to deliver new levels of performance and productivity, as well as significantly higher energy savings.

The system is also equipped with intelligent features that make it easier to use, with simplified controls for faster process set-up and improved repeatability. With these advancements, Husky says system owners can look to HyCAP4 to deliver “improved returns and increased opportunities”.

At the show, the HyCAP 4 is running a 1.25 gram 29/25 closure for a mineral water application in a cycle time of 2.4 seconds.

Speciality closures global debut

In addition to the HyCAP4 system, Husky is also demonstrating its new system solution for the manufacture of speciality closures, HyperSync, for the first time at K 2016.

At the show the HyperSync system is manufacturing a 6.1gram flip-top closure for a shampoo bottle application running a fast 8.5-second cycle time. The integrated eIMC in-mould closing technology reportedly attracted a lot of attention on the first day of K2016.

“HyperSync is the first showing of the systems we have invested into for speciality closures and medical,” explained Steve Lawrynuik, Husky’s President of Medical and Specialty Packaging, at a press conference at the show.

“You’ll see how we’ve integrated the mould into the machine. It is uniquely synchronised to improve performance for customers. We can achieve about 20 percent cycle time improvement and a really high quality part. We’ve had a tremendous response to this from customers on the first day.”
