Interplas is antimicrobially protected thanks to exhibitor debut

by

SteriTouch will be showcasing its unique offering when it exhibits at Interplas for the first time in 2014.

Typically operating in the antimicrobial plastics sector, SteriTouch has now developed antimicrobial, metal detectable, X-Ray visible and anti-counterfeit solutions for almost any material.

The company says experts will be on hand at Interplas to discuss its recent breakthrough product, freshfibres, an antimicrobial yarn it says has “unrivalled properties”.  A silver-based additive is extruded throughout its filaments, creating an enduring antibacterial effect that SteriTouch says “outperforms competitor products”.

SteriTouch is also keen to demonstrate its in-house development capabilities which make it a one-stop shop for customers looking to adopt antimicrobial technology.  With a Boy injection moulder and twin screw extruder making up part of the facilities in-house, additives and masterbatches are developed for new and complex materials and swatches are moulded ready for testing. Additives, it says, are available for any polymer, silicone, coatings and fabric.

“With a QUV weather station and tensile and impact testers, alongside a laboratory facility, SteriTouch holds a unique position in the market where hands-on expertise and in-house development facilities combine with the powerful SteriTouch co-brand to offer a seamless integration process to our customers,” said Steritouch’s Joanna Wilson ahead of the show.
