Kiefel presents punching technology and thermoforming machine in China

by

Machinery manufacturer, Kiefel, is demonstrating its latest punch press and thermoforming machine for the first time at Chinaplas 2016.

The company says the combination of its KES punch press, which incorporates an innovative peripheral punching technology, and its KMD 78F thermoforming machine provide the “perfect solution” for the production of trays, lids and formed products.

Kiefel says the newly developed system ensures cost effectiveness in large-scale production and has a vast range of applications.

The machine’s robust design, combined with a unique crank drive, enables a production speed of 120 cycles per minute.

The vertical punching system minimises the effect of transverse forces, says Kiefel and all cycle movements are servomotor-driven. This concept, it says, combines low tool costs with the best stacking solutions.

Combined hole punching and periphery punching is possible; as the whole tool block can be changed easily and quickly with a crane.

The system is operated by the Siemens Simotion control system, which is adapted to the user’s needs and a touch screen with teaching function for new products.

Kiefel says the KES 85 is best suited for the production of parts of PS, PP, PE, PVC, PET and PLA and can be combined with every inline thermoforming unit.
