The countdown continues: Just two months to go until Interplas

Billed as the 'must attend' event for the plastics industry both in the UK and further afield, Interplas 2014 is set to throw wide its doors in just two months.

Organised by Rapid News Communications Group, which took over Interplas in 2011, this year's outing will run for three days from September 30th to October 2nd at the NEC, Birmingham, UK, with the biggest names in plastics exhibiting and presenting at the triennial event.

Visitor numbers are set to exceed 12,000 and there are more than 400 exhibitors taking their place on the expanded show floor, which is nearly one-third larger than in 2011 and will feature the likes of Arburg, Engel, Demag, Summit Systems, Romi Sandretto, Ferromatik, Milacron Extrusion, Krauss Maffei Group UK and Boy. Rapid News Communications is thrilled to announce that Iain Wright MP, Shadow Minister for Industry within the Shadow BIS team, will deliver the keynote on Day Two of Interplas, kicking off a day of top-flight speakers, focusing on the success of the UK's automotive industry and opportunities for plastics.

Among some of the features visitors can look forward to at this year's outing is the MoDiP exhibition of iconic pieces from the history of design in plastics - where visitors will be asked to turn detective and help piece together some of the unknown facts about the products on display.

For the artistic, there will be a live demonstration of 'Melting Plastic Art' by Glenn West. Working with polyethylene and plastic sheet, which he melts into large contemporary paintings, Glenn will be giving a thrilling display by creating smaller artworks live at the show.

Duncan Wood, COO and Event Director, commented: "Interplas 2014 is shaping up to be the industry event of the year thanks to the calibre of exhibitors from all over the world and of course our stellar line up of industry experts set to take to the stage. The event is bigger and better than Interplas 2011 by far and I am sure it will exceed the expectations of all our visitors."

Interplas 2014 will be opened by the British Plastics Federation (BPF), with new Director-General Philip Law presenting the inaugural keynote speech, which will set the tone for the event as the most significant, relevant show of its kind recognised by the most powerful names in the industry.

In addition, the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA) has thrown its support behind Interplas 2014, along with the GTMA and Materials KTN, with leading industry magazine British Plastics and Rubber returning to the event as lead media partner.

Group Editor, Rapid News Communications Group, Leanne Taylor said: "Two months out from the doors opening we are seeing endless evidence of why Interplas is considered such a pivotal show for the plastics industry. From exhibitors choosing to launch innovative new products to market and debut new machinery, to a programme packed with free-to-attend technical seminars, demonstrations and workshops, the 2014 outing really is worth getting excited about."

Interplas 2014 takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, UK on September 30th-October 2nd 2014.
