‘Wild’ ideas revealed as student plastics design competition names finalists

by

This year’s brief asked the finalists to create an innovative product, using plastic as the main material, which would improve animal wellbeing.

The submission saw such varied ideas that seven designs  - rather than the usual six  - were

shortlisted for the final judging stage, due to take place on 20th May.

Almost every entry addressed a different problem involving a broad range of animals, from horses, cats and dogs to reptiles, chickens, hedgehogs and fish.

The winner will spend a week with Covestro at its headquarters in Germany and given a work placement at a leading global design agency, PriestmanGoode, as well as receiving £1,000.

All finalists will win industrial placements with other competition sponsors.
