BPF Director-General to retire in 2014

Peter Davis OBE, the Director-General of the BPF, is to retire from the Association at the end of June 2014.

The President of the British Plastics Federation, Mike Boswell, informed the BPF Council and staff that both Mr Davis, along with Finance and Administration Director, Alan Davey, will retire from the Association at the same time.

Mr Boswell said: “Peter and Alan have given sterling service to the BPF and industry. Although a year away, it is important we have a plan for finding their successors.”

The President said that Council had set up an Appointments Panel, chaired by himself, to undertake this task.

Mr Davis was appointed BPF Director-General in October 1997 and previously had a long history of working within the plastics industry. Mr Davey started with the BPF in 2004 with a strong manufacturing background acquired predominantly in life sciences and the chemical sectors.
