Bristol-based firms come together to create medical plastics innovations

Two Bristol-based businesses have collaborated to create innovative medical plastic products that are being used by healthcare professionals worldwide.

Using its brand new state-of-the-art plastic injection moulding factory in Bristol, Phineas have partnered with Limbs & Things, a manufacturer of quality medical training products, to sustainably manufacture a range of medical training models.

From product design to production, Phineas has worked together with Limbs & Things to manufacture the PROMPT Flex Birthing Simulator, a realistic training platform for healthcare professionals to acquire the delicate skills required to perform routine and difficult childbirth scenarios.

Developed locally in collaboration with clinicians at Southmead Hospital, Bristol and the PROMPT Maternity Foundation, the birthing simulator provides hands-on practice for medical professionals in maternity units worldwide. It allows for an ultra-realistic training experience which has enabled healthcare professionals to practice and develop skills that are invaluable for improved patient outcomes.
