Bristol-based rubber manufacturing company wins Queens Award

A specialist manufacturer and developer of rubber dipped products has been presented with a prestigious ‘Queen’s Award’ for its first commercial product.

Bristol-based Precision Dippings Manufacturing (PDM) received the innovation award for ‘Bloccs’, a waterproof cover for plaster casts that allows children and adults to swim or bathe.

The product was launched to market in 2013 and has since become the market leader for dressing protection for both children and adults.

“We’re extremely proud to have come so far so quickly with Bloccs,” said PDM’s Director, Kate Richards.  “2016 has been a very exciting year for us and we’re now looking forward to expanding production and increasing sales globally.”

HRH The Duke of Kent, who visited PDM and conducted a tour of the manufacturing facilities, presented the Award to PDM, in the company of staff, guests and local dignitaries.
