Colourful new onsite facility opens in Wrexham

North Wales-based manufacturer of colour, additive and fragrance masterbatches, Silvergate Plastics, has unveiled a new onsite colour development facility, which it believes to be the first of its kind in the UK.

‘Creations’, which was officially opened by Lesley Griffiths, Welsh Assembly Member for Wrexham on 24th May, is a colour-matching suite where Silvergate says customers can work directly with specialist technicians to develop or create their ideal colour, whilst being able to continue with work or business by using free Wi-Fi and a workspace.

Silvergate says it identified the opportunity to create what it describes as an “extremely valuable facility” onsite at its technical and production centre in Wrexham, North Wales, after evaluating and analysing the needs of its customers.

“Providing a service that enables customers to achieve a desired colour match in a day is incredibly valuable within the plastics manufacturing industry. It allows customers to make instant decisions that add value to their brand and image,” said Tony Bestall, Managing Director of Silvergate Plastics.

“Nothing else like Creations exists in the UK and we are extremely proud to have opened our doors to offer this service to our highly valued customers,” he commented.

Silvergate was recently chosen to produce the masterbatch for the new Charles Worthington hair product range, manufactured by PZ Cussons. Head of Global Product Development, Ana Muggenberg and her team recently visited Creations to work with Silvergate to create the required colours from concept to finished product.

Ana commented: “We can’t thank Silvergate enough for their support on this massive project. I’m confident it will be a huge success and Silvergate has been a very important part of it.” The new range will be available to consumers from 3rd June.

Lesley Griffiths AM applauded Silvergate for its continued expansion and support for the local economy. She acknowledged the skills and technical capabilities of the company and told BP&R it was encouraging to see a local manufacturer succeeding despite tough economic conditions.
