Does your lab need some love? Instron launches modernisation initiative

by

Instron has launched a new initiative designed to help R&D testing laboratories make a business case for upgrading existing equipment.

The new ‘Lab Health Check’ system assesses a company’s existing equipment and looks at ways in which it can be modernised for improved capability, reliability and productivity, without capital expenditure.

“The most encouraging thing is that when customers have successfully applied for the funding to upgrade their first system, the benefits are so clear that it becomes even easier to get the future funding required to invest in other systems,” explained Nick Shrubsall, Product and Marketing Manager for Instron’s Dynamic Upgrades and Accessories and leader of the Lab Health Check initiative.

Instron says the overall aim of the initiative is to help companies build a successful business case for upgrading old equipment, and start improving the capability, reliability and productivity of that equipment with immediate effect.

The benefits of this, it says, could have a greater impact than just within a lab; stating that previous customers have seen an increase in operator satisfaction, as well as finding that a modernised lab improved both their ability to win new customer business, and the intake of engineering talent within their teams.

Instron is offering free consultations to provide insight into the status of existing equipment, as well as assistance on building a strategy for the modernisation.
