EEF appoints Claire Jakobsson as Policy Head for climate, energy and environment

Claire Jakobsson has taken over as the new Head of Climate, Energy and Environment Policy at EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation.

Jakobsson will be leading a team of three policy experts and will be responsible for advancing the interests of manufacturing in the environment and sustainability space.

She will also be key in shaping EEF’s stance and support for manufacturers on issues such as the Business Energy Efficiency Taxation Review, the Energy Intensive Compensation Package and the reform of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.

“I’m delighted to be joining EEF and taking on such a challenging and rewarding role. A strong manufacturing sector is vital if the Government’s economic and social aspirations are to be securely underpinned,” Jakobsson said on her appointment.

“However, industry cannot create the right conditions for growth alone – the Government has a critical part to play in laying down the right policy foundations upon which industry can thrive and grow.”

Prior to joining EEF, Jakobsson was working as a freelance consultant, providing advice on political and policy challenges, particularly around waste, renewable energy and environment.
