A packaging solutions company has won a prestigious award for its innovations over the past 25 years, as well as two other awards.

Amcor took home DuPont’s ‘Continuing Innovation’ award, diamond in a special ‘Food Security’ award and silver in the ‘Excellence in Innovation’ award.

These awards, given on May 16, take Amcor’s tally of DuPont awards to 11 in total since their inception.

The ‘Continuing Innovation’ award recognises Amcor’s leadership in delivering what it calls innovation excellence throughout the last 25 years.

Amcor’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Ken MacKenzie, said: “We are delighted to be recognised by DuPont for our long-standing commitment to innovation. This award is great recognition of Amcor’s talented co-workers who passionately and relentlessly apply art and science to develop innovative packaging solutions and bring them to commercial reality.”

The ‘Food Security’ award was won in conjunction with its customer ColaLife, who developed a packaging system called AidPod, which delivers life-saving medicine to children in remote villages via Coca-Cola distribution channels.

The ‘Excellence in Innovation’ award was won by Amcor’s Formpack range, a product that is used to protect pharmaceutical solids such as tablets, capsules or powders.
