Frimpeks announces new investment and expansion at UK site

Manufacturer of labels and adhesives, Frimpeks, has announced significant investment in its UK facility.

The plans will see the Saxmundham, Suffolk, site extended by 25,000 sq.ft., allowing room for a planned capital equipment expansion in 2016 and over the next three years. Additional warehousing will also be available, which Frimpeks says will increase storage space tenfold.

The investment includes the expansion of the existing coating line to incorporate greater automation and flexibility.  In addition a new slitter incorporating fully automated packing lines is being installed in Q2 2016. 

“This announcement underlines Frimpeks commitment to following through on its five year plan,” said UK Managing Director, Dave Casey.

“The site expansion and new plant will increase capacity and follows a similar investment at our sister plant in Remscheid Germany. The Hot Melt coating capability will provide the flexibility and capacity our growing customer base demand and will give us a basis to continue our growth plans and serve the European market.”

Saxmundham already manufactures or distributes self-adhesive laminates, inks and digital media. Frimepeks UK offers a range of face materials including papers, polypropylene, polyethylene and vinyl, supported by a range of liners.
