Gerd Liebig returns to Demag after stint at Engel

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag has announced that its former Marketing Director and Chief Strategic Officer, Gerd Liebig, is rejoining the company as Chief Sales Officer.

Liebig, who has spent the last nine years as Group Marketing Director for Engel Austria, will commence his new role with Demag as of 1st April 2015.

He will take over the full responsibility of all worldwide sales, after sales and marketing activities out of the company's headquarters in Schwaig, Germany, and will also lead the company’s worldwide sales subsidiaries and representatives.

In a statement, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag said Liebig will work “hand in hand” with the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Officer in order to guide Sumitomo (SHI) Demag into a “future position of global market leadership in the injection moulding business.”
