HL Plastics’ £8m expansion plans to create 200 local jobs

Manufacturer of uPVC products, HL Plastics, has been granted permission for an £8million expansion at its site in Derbyshire that will see the creation of an additional 200 jobs at the firm.

The company will shortly start work on a new 150,000 square foot warehouse adjacent to the existing factory and mixing plant at its Derbyshire headquarters, allowing all manufacturing divisions of the brand to be brought on to one site.

This, it says, will see the creation of an additional 200 jobs in the local area over the next three years, enabling the firm to cope with an ever-increasing demand for its ‘Linair’-branded range of PVCu windows, doors, conservatory roofs, trade supplies, decking, fencing and piling systems.

Commenting, Roger Hartshorn, Chief Executive of HL Plastics, said he was “delighted” that the plans had been given the go-ahead.

“The new warehouse is vital for us to continue to expand and enable us to increase output levels to meet the growing demand for Liniar products,” he said.

“It makes perfect commercial sense to have all our operations running in the same location and we’re always keen to create employment opportunities in the area.”

HL Plastics says the expansion also ties in with plans to create and install a training centre, working with local educational institutions to address the skills shortage within the industry.
