HRH The Earl of Wessex gives ‘seal’ of approval to Dorset manufacturer

A UK manufacturer of precision rubber ‘O’ ring seals and mouldings welcomed His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex last week in a special presentation to support the reserve forces.

Superior, based on the Ferndown Industrial Estate in Dorset, hosted the event to recognise local employers who either already support Reservist employees, as well as encourage others to find out how members of the Reserves can play a valuable role within a business.

“We were extremely pleased to be able to host the event and hope it may well convince other local companies to embrace Reservists within their organisations,” said Tim Brown, Managing Director of Superior.

His Royal Highness joined other guests to hear from Brigadier Tony Dalby-Welsh, the Chief Executive Wessex Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, about the important role the organisation plays.

After the presentation, His Royal Highness was given a tour of the Superior Academy building, which was opened in 2012 by HRH The Duke of Kent. During the tour The Earl was introduced to many of Superior’s apprentices, who now number 17 out of a total workforce of 170.

“We were delighted to show His Royal Highness our Academy building, where our own apprentices spend a lot of their time training, so they can become skilled members of the Superior team,” Brown concluded.
