Motan calls for award entries to “shape the future” of materials management

by

Motan Colortronic has called for entries for an award that recognises innovation and aims to bring new ideas to light.

The ‘Mia’ Award, held every two years through the Motan Foundation, is designed to foster innovation within Motan’s own processes, with a focus on R&D and technology integration to help make the winning idea a reality.

The company is calling for entrants to identify areas within plastics processing, and specifically raw materials handling, which could be improved upon.

Motan says its goal is to “enhance raw materials handling in plastics production and processing, and change the face of materials management.”

This includes ideas that solve customer challenges, those that integrate new technologies into existing applications, uncover new fields of application for Motan products, as well as ideas to preserve resources or make processes more user-friendly.

The company will work alongside the individuals behind the winning entry to bring the idea to reality, and says all testing and development will be undertaken to provide the solution.

The company said: “Ideas are the sparks that fly when forward-looking thinkers put their heads together. Left to languish in a drawer, they have no chance of inspiring people – and no opportunity of making their mark on the world.

“The motan innovation award aims to bring these ideas to light. As only then can they evolve into real products for use in the plastics industry.”

The winning idea will be awarded prize money of €20,000 Euros, with an award ceremony and presentations held at the K Show in October 2016.

The deadline for applications is 31 December 2015, with further details about the eligibility criteria and judging process, as well as how to enter, available here: http://www.motan-colortronic.com/innovation/innovation-award.html
