New sales manager aims to aid UK market

A hot runner supplier has appointed a new sales manager in a move it says signals its intent to grow the UK market.

Chris Whitlam will be Thermoplay’s new sales manager for the UK and Ireland after moving from the same job at Sandretto UK.

He will lead Thermoplay’s UK team from newly refurbished premises in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. The premises also have an extensive stock of parts and spares.

Whitlam said: “I’m really relishing the sales and marketing opportunities ahead. Hot runner technology is still in its advent and I’m looking forward to being backed by a truly global organisation.”

The Italian-based firm employs 170 people in its main plant and also has sales and technical teams based across the globe. Whitlam added: “This is the kind of global customer reach and experience that I can really turn to the benefit of forward-looking moulders in the UK and Ireland.”

Thermoplay says its UK team will be focused on helping moulders who are running multi-cavity tools and those who require fast cycle times.
