New Managing Director at Thermotec Plastics

Birmingham-based Thermotec Plastics Ltd has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director at the firm, along with expectations for additional staff members due to a combination of grant funding to increase the company’s production capabilities and recently won contracts.

Ian Thurman joined Thermotec, which supplies engineered solutions in vacuum 

forming/thermoforming, polyurethane mouldings and super lightweight composites, in 2006 as Finance Director and has been an integral part of the company’s steady growth in recent years.

In his new role as Managing Director he is responsible for all aspects of the business and will continue to oversee its finances.

“I am pleased that Ian Thurman has now stepped in to the position of Managing Director. He knows this business inside and out, and his strong leadership will ensure that our customers remain as they always have been – our top priority,” commented Michael McDonough, Chairman at Thermotec Plastics.

Thurman started his new role by inviting over 30 fellow MD’s from some of the region’s top manufacturing and engineering firms to attend a breakfast networking event and factory tour.
