Peterborough-based G&A Moulding Technology has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director.

Richard Brown, formerly of Hi-Technology Group, has joined G&A after 16 years with his former company.

He said he ‘relishes the challenges’ with G&A, and while the decision to join the firm had been hard, but the process of leaving Hi-Technology Group was amicable.

“I had reached the point where a new challenge was required and with the business having recorded its best year in its history culminating with a solid order book it seemed like a good time to take up a new and exciting challenge,” he said.

John Goff, who founded G&A in the 80s, will hand over the day-to-day running of the business to Brown but remains in his post of CEO.

Brown said: “I’m sure I can continue to deliver the excellence that our customers have come to expect and build upon the relationships that John has created.”

The new MD also said he believes there are also opportunities to bridge the gap in training within the industry for polymer apprenticeship training and the up skilling of the current workforce to meet the global challenge of skill shortages.

Of the decision to hand over the reins, which he described as difficult, Goff said: “It is clear from Richard’s experience and standing in the industry that he has the right knowledge, energy and commitment to make G&A even more successful and is a good fit for the business.

“We are now entering a very exciting phase for the company.”
