Pharma injection moulding manager does time for charity

The technical manager of pharmaceutical injection moulding specialist, polymermedics, was sent to Bodmin Jail last week… all in the name of a local children’s hospice.

Dressed in a striped prison uniform, having been charged with “Blagging with intent without a licence”, Neil Skyba escaped jail by raising £1600 in charity bail money in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

The money was raised from polymermedics colleagues, customers and suppliers throughout the UK, as well as family and friends.

“I’m glad to be out of there – I’m lucky everyone was so generous! If the guys at polymermedics hadn’t been such a good support team I’d probably still be behind bars,” Skyba said.

“We have so many fantastic contacts we can call on for help. There’s a real sense of community when everyone comes together to support such an important local charity.

“Children’s Hospice South West does such amazing, vital work at Little Harbour. Seeing all the good that the money can do is really a wonderful feeling.”
