Plastribution organises memorial walk for former colleague

by

Polymer distributor, Plastribution, has organised a memorial walk to take place later this month in memory of friend and colleague, Dave Machin, who sadly passed away on 30 May last year.

The aim of the walk on 22 May is to raise money for the critical care unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital - together with any other charities deemed appropriate – as this was the facility that looked after Dave and supported his family during his short illness.

The firm has extended an open invitation to anyone who knew Dave to join them for the walk. The 5-mile, “non-challenging” route, which takes in two pubs along the way, sets off at 11am from the Travellers Rest pub (Dave’s local) in Stanley Village, Staffordshire, and follows the canal, eventually passing the Hollybush Inn in Denford before returning to the Travellers Rest for a buffet.

“Following discussions with Dave’s family we elected for a walk in his memory, the idea being to allow others who knew him the opportunity to take part and to share the day with us,” commented Plastribution’s Managing Director, Mike Boswell.

“Dave was very fond of the great outdoors and by taking in his local pub, the choice of activity and venue would have met with his approval I’m sure. Fund raising for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire Charity is entirely fitting - we ask those participating to give what they can please. All are very welcome.”
