RAPRA works towards a CCA for the UK Rubber Industry

Climate Change Agreements (CCAs) allow eligible energy-intensive businesses to receive up to a 65 percent discount from the Climate Change Levy (CCL) in return for meeting energy efficiency or carbon-saving targets. The discount for electricity will increase to 90 percent from April 2013.

On behalf of its members, RAPRA says it is compiling a case to present to the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for an umbrella CCA covering the sector and company activities that do not fall within current existing agreements.

Any non-member companies interested in benefitting under this agreement can also register their interest with RAPRA. All companies will need to provide information about their activities and/or expenditure on energy to establish eligibility. From this, RAPRA will negotiate sector specific eligible activities and energy efficiency targets with the DECC.
