Recognition for Portugal’s Engineering and Tooling Cluster

Portugal’s Engineering and Tooling cluster, Pool-Net, which incorporates the moulding, special tools and plastics industries, has been recognised with a Certificate of Excellence.

The Cluster has been awarded the gold-level certification, which is the highest level of international recognition for clusters of companies and their management.

In order to qualify for the gold label, cluster management organisations need to meet certain “levels of excellence" in terms of its structure, governance, financing, strategy, services and recognition.

These individual aspects are assessed by external parties as part of EU efforts to create world-class clusters of companies across Europe.

Following its assessment, Pool-Net was invited to join the group of international experts that monitor the global certification process and decide on the awards in future.

This international recognition, says Pool-Net, reinforces the level of excellence of companies in its cluster in the international market, which centre around its brand, ‘Engineering and Tooling from Portugal.’
