Summit Systems says strengthened team will allow it to “weather Brexit storms”

The Managing Director of a UK plastics ancillaries company says that the ongoing strengthening of its team through recruitment of new staff will allow it to “weather any storms” that arise following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

Speaking following the appointment of a new Technical Sales Engineer, Mike Jordan of Tamworth-based Summit Systems said newest recruit, Steve Lane, would be an important asset in taking the company forward in times of uncertainty following the referendum.

“As Brexit spells uncertain times ahead, the strengthening of the Summit Systems team has positioned us to weather any storms that come our way,” Jordan commented.

“We anticipate some large installations will stall and lower value sales, rental and used products will make up a larger proportion of our revenues. Steve will be pinnacle in delivering value to our clients as their needs evolve.”

“A reputation for excellence”

As part of his role, Lane will be supporting clients in Southern England, Southern Wales and

Southern Ireland with technical ancillary equipment purchases. He brings more than 27 years’ experience servicing the plastics manufacturing community.

“Summit Systems has a reputation for excellence in the UK plastics ancillary market, providing high quality, innovative solutions to support manufacturing automation,” Lane said of his appointment.

“It is an honour to be part of such a well-established, high calibre team. I look forward to bringing my broad production knowledge to support clients in making optimum decisions for their plant efficiency.”

Attracting the right staff

Summit Systems says the key to attracting the right staff is down to the “strong, sustained performance” of the company, as well as winning accolades from industry, such as its recent recognition as the ‘Best Company to Work For’ in the UK plastics sector.

Jordan said that he is “delighted” with the appointment of Lane, who has had a lot of previous experience working in the plastics industry, for companies such as Plastribution and Southco Inc.

“Steve has readily integrated into Summit Systems, gaining respect from peers and clients alike via an extensive product knowledge, boundless enthusiasm and infallible professionalism,” Jordan added.
