The “sleeping giant” of PVC stabilisers to be woken with new UK team

Leading supplier of PVC additives and stabilisers, Chemson, is strengthening its UK manufacturing and business development capabilities to support ambitious growth plans.

The company, which is part of the OYAK Group, has recruited four new technical, engineering and sales personnel in a move it says will help it access “untapped potential” in the business.

“Chemson’s UK manufacturing centre has long been thought of as a ‘sleeping-giant’ with lots of untapped potential,” explained Chemson’s CSO, Alexander Hofer, and European Regional Sales Director, Geert Heijman.

”Under new committed-ownership we now have a long-term strategy for growth in place and these new appointments will play a vital role in this strategy as we move forward into a new phase in our evolution.”

The four new recruits are, Mark Dobson, Sales Director for the UK and Scandinavia; Chris Cheeseman, Technical Service Manager; as well as Carl Atkinson and Glenn Roach, who join the engineering team to improve manufacturing processes.

“We are delighted to welcome these high-calibre new team members to the Chemson family. Each of them boasts an extremely strong track record and brings a core understanding of both manufacturing and the polymers and plastics business,” Hofer and Heijman continued.

The new recruits will be responsible for the implementation of a nine-step-improvement plan to boost quality and capability at Chemson’s manufacturing facility in North Tyneside, as well as the development and promotion of innovative new PVC stabiliser solutions.

Managing director of Chemson’s UK manufacturing facility, Paul Knowles, said: “As well as the skills that these new appointments bring, we are able to tap into extensive additional technical capabilities through our European network of resources.  Going forward we believe this unrivalled expertise will position us as the market leaders in our field.”
