A Wrexham-based PVC compounder says it is going from “strength to strength”, winning additional financial support and planning to recruit additional staff.

Vinyl GB Ltd, trading as ecoVyn, started production in mid-2015 with assistance from the Welsh Government and currently employs 10 people. After securing additional financial support from Business Wales and Welsh Government, ecoVyn plans to hire a further four people during the first half of 2016.

ecoVyn specialises in the manufacture of PVC compounds from both virgin and reprocessed sources and supplies the pipe, conduit and general extrusion markets throughout the UK and Europe.  The Wrexham plant consists of twin-screw extruders, pulverisers and mixers with a support laboratory.

The plant recently played host to a visit from Wrexham’s Assembly Member, Lesley Griffiths, who toured the facility to mark the opening and commissioning of further plant, as well as meeting with the company’s Managing Director, Simon Burgess.

“The innovative work and technological expertise undertaken at ecoVyn has resulted in the company developing market-leading materials,” commented Ms Griffiths.

“It is yet another example of highly skilled business progressing in Wrexham and I am delighted Simon and his team have received Welsh Government support, which will help secure and create jobs.  I will continue to support them as best I can and wish them every success for the future.”

Simon Burgess, MD of ecoVyn, added: “It was a pleasure to meet Lesley Griffiths as she has been of great support to us in the formation and expansion of the factory.  We hope to count on Lesley’s continuing support during our expansion plans throughout out 2016.”
