Yorkshire-based composites firm wins ‘Outstanding Employer’ accolade

Glass reinforced plastic manufacturer, MPM, has been recognised as the 'Outstanding Employer of the Year' at the 2015 Composite UK Awards.

The Yorkshire-based company, which produces a range of products amd services including fibreglass moulds, resin transfer moulding, general fibreglass part production and skilled pattern making, won the accolade for strong leadership, open communications and employee skills investment.

MPM says it places great emphasis on the development of its staff, encouraging its 20 employees to participate in learning and development programmes to help them fulfil their professional potential and develop the capabilities of the company.

In addition to this award, Health and Safety and Logistics Leader, John Dobbin, was awarded ‘Employee of the Year’ for demonstrating commitment to quality, and his dedication and professionalism during the last year and to his team with over ten years’ service at MPM. The company also received runner-up status for the Health and Safety Award.

These awards follow over three years’ worth of success, says MPM, including more than six appointments, eight awards/commendations, and making the ‘Manufacturer Top 100’ list.

Results have reportedly improved “significantly”, with the business growing revenues by over 15 percent in its last financial year and 20 percent year-on-year for the last five.

This growth, the company says, has been based on its ability to respond to its customers needs and provide new products and service offerings, whilst improving its lean manufacturing and business processes.

With further growth plans and another 20 – 30 percent potential growth in 2016, expansion plans are already underway to open up another 2,000 square feet of manufacturing space and recruit additional staff.
