ARTEC redesigns plastics recycling system

by

Austrian recycling machinery manufacturer, ARTEC, has redesigned its system in order to process plastic material waste with higher levels of contamination and moisture content.

The ARTEC machine can process agricultural film, as well as trimmings from post-industrial film production or PET packaging and EPS-material in all forms.

The modular system consists of six units in different sizes and capacities, which can be combined flexibly, based on the specific recycling task. These include conveyors, cutters, dryers, extruders, degassers and filtration systems etc.

This, says the company, enables production capacity from 100 to 2,500 kg/hr (220 to 5,500 lbs/hr).

ARTEC says the redesigned system offers benefits including an enlarged maintenance opening for the cutter-compactor, easily accessible containers for the degassing system, as well as a new, movable control interface, which is height-adjustable to adapt to the ergonomic requirements of the operator.

Finally, the machine’s control software has been completely redesigned with the focus on flexibility and user-friendliness. The concept, says ARTEC, is “logical, self-explanatory and clearly visualises the complete process”. A process management system with extensive data storage has also been integrated, as well as Internet connectivity for long-distance troubleshooting and maintenance.
