EREMA achieves highest turnover to date in 2015/16

Specialists in recycling systems for the plastics industry, EREMA, has posted record sales of 122 million euros for the 2015/16 financial year.

The sales represent a five percent growth on the previous year in 2014/15 and are the highest in the company’s history.

In addition to the ongoing growth of EREMA recycling systems, the turnover of the EREMA Group as a whole, which includes PURE LOOP and 3S, has also increased, with a consolidated turnover increasing to 132 million euros.

EREMA says despite “economically and politically challenging” circumstances as a result of the low oil prices, it has recorded increasing demand, particularly in the post-consumer sector.

"This increase in turnover shows us that we are on the right track with our technology – recyclers are turning more and more into producers of raw material who can be successful with recyclates which are customised for the end application,” commented Manfred Hackl, CEO at EREMA.

“Besides quality, we are fully focused on our customers. Our systems are designed with precision for the specific requirements of our customers and optimised for the respective application.”

The growing trend of brand leaders such as Coca-Cola, IKEA and Phillips using recyclate in the production of plastic products as part of corporate sustainability planning is influencing others, says EREMA. Economic and political measures, such as the raising of compulsory recycling levels, are also having an impact on sales, the company added.

"The trend in the plastics industry is clearly towards recycling. We will show how EREMA would like to continue these future-oriented developments at this year's K 2016 show. The focus this time will be on Industry 4.0 and the associated opportunities, on the one hand for producers to integrate the recycling process easily in the production process and, on the other hand, for recyclers to produce even more efficiently," Hackl concluded.
