Frigosystem launches temperature control units for more accurate mould conditioning

by

Frigosystem has produced a new range of thermo-refrigerating units that it says meets the modern demands of production, including the use of more complex moulds and the use of high performance polymers.

The new HC unit is a combination of its traditional cooling system, the Frigosystem RACA C chiller and its Temperature Control Units (series TRW). The result, says the company, is a compact system that is capable of serving up to three different zones, with between one and three different working temperatures.

The HC units are typically water-cooled monobloc units, which are installed adjacent to the process machine. Within each unit there is a water-cooled chiller with reservoir tank and each of the one, two, or three process circuits is equipped with a proportional three-way valve and heater. By controlling the mix of chilled and recycled water combined with the heater, this set-up ensures that each of these independent process circuits is able to maintain its own working temperature within the range -10°C through to +90°C with a typical accuracy of +/- 0.5°C.

Frigosystem says energy savings offered by the HC units are top of the list of benefits to the user. The water-cooled version is normally connected to the existing cool water circuit, which will provide for free cooling for a number of months throughout the year. This could mean several months of chilled water without once starting the chiller compressor, meaning savings on power consumption.
