The expansion to Arburg’s central production plant in Lossburg has started with the ground-breaking ceremony on the 28th April. Arburg’s plans to expand by 13% for a total space of the plant to 165,000 m2. The new building is primarily being built for a large injection moulding machine and turnkey systems.

Tens of million of Euro’s have been invested for this expansion. Michael Hehl, Managing Partner and Spokesperson for the Arburg Management Team said: “Growth means preservation, means actively securing the future.” The development was from growing demand for a large injection moulding machines and complete production cells. The initial excavation started in March 2014 and the expected completion will be Autumn 2015.

The entire project has the future of the company in mind. But also the environment; for example rainwater is collected and is used by the gardens and all the sanitary facilities. Michael Hehl also said: “With the new building, we are implementing highly integrated facility management, which will reduce the primary energy requirements to a minimum and therefore further expands our environmental protection activities.”

The new building is integrated to the old section of the building that was built in 2000; even in 2000 Arburg were looking towards the future to other expansions.
